Greetings from the GO! Smell the flowers gang! A score of founder writers based in Dubai, China, India, OZ, US, Canada, Holland, Hawaii, France, England & Wales. They make it happen here from all over the world with their unique blend of blog posts, banter, comments behind the scenes and plenty of room for YOU to join in and get involved as we become an online community with some backbone & meaning.!
Here are the 18 founder members whose contributions makes the flowers bloom! Do watch out for the thorns though, it’s not all roses and hey, that’s what makes it interesting. What is GO! Smell the flowers?
A place to brighten up your time on line and to make you think, be inspired or inspire others within the comments that accompany each post. Sick of headline news? Then join in at the community herem our cause, our reason to be!
What started out as a website with a few travel photos from a couple who took time out from the rat race, has blossomed into a thriving community and here you are to make it even more active!
O.K, I’m with that but how did it all start - why ‘GO! Smell the flowers’?
When Jim and Emma resigned from the heights of corporate marketing to see the places they’d always wanted to see they took a gamble, a journey into the unknown and time out to ask what it’s all about.
At Jim’s farewell lunch the Regional President of Jim’s company said…
‘We’d all love to get out of the rat race - We wish you look on your travels. Enjoy it when you smell the flowers‘
At the time these words didn’t mean alot to Jim who had previously bitten the heads of flowers rather than smelling them but as time moved on and countries were visited the phrase stayed with the couple as they joked about smelling the flowers. They ’smelt the flowers’, both kept ‘his n her’ journal along the way and are on track to publish their adventures in a truly unique way in 2008 and beyond!
GO! Smell the flowers aims to inform, entertain and enlighten people from all over our increasingly smaller world.
Why wait until you’re dead and pushing up flowers from the grave? Life is too short and we endeavour to inspire people and help them discover their reason to be and be the best they can or at least think about what they can change in their life for the better! Who doesn’t want that?
Hmmm O.k but how do I get involved?
It’s very easy and there are several ways:

Every post on this blog is open to your comments! It doesn’t matter if you have never been here before, or if you are a “regular,” all points of view are welcome. Be wary of thorns amongst the flowers though - some hard issues may be discussed, chewed over and often spat back out in the spirit of the community.

What about the founder members ?
As our blog gained momentum and won several accolades around the blogosphere more people wanted to contribute but at a deeper and more involved level. Enter our founder members -all with their own flower smelling methods, their goals and their reason to be - all making us flowers buzz!
Without their input the flowers can’t bloom and reach the full potential and we’ve a great crew on board.
O.K Flower people, then give me an example of inspiration, flower people!
Maybe a change in YOUR life is due? It could be a career break, drinking and eating less, starting a new hobby, spending more time with the kids, saying ‘no’ more or discovering the merits of a group hug. GO! Smell the flowers is not just a cue to head off around the world but making changes for the better to hep you people realise their dreams. What about having the courage to write that book you’ve always wanted to?
I want to be more involved - now what?
More and more people are taking the time out to smell their flowers.
It could be 5 minutes out of a busy day, a career break, holiday with the family, a new lease of life after an illness or job loss - whatever it means to YOU!
Are you already smelling your flowers? Then great - become an honourary flower smeller! Just get invovled here and in good time you may be nominated by a founder as a flower smeller!
