Do you really need something? Or just really want it? As the Rolling Stones song goes,
‘You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find you get what you need.’
Our fellow blogger over at YourDollarSaved created an interesting post on how to be happy just getting what you need, rather than giving into the need to get what you want. Do we really need the things we want? Perhaps the world would be better off if we all just spent our time and effort on what’s needed in life?

Our fellow bloggers over at Slantmouth are very literally encouraging people to fight obesity. Though we encourage the use of numerous fruits and veggies, we don’t necessarily they should be thrown in a defensive manner. Nor does running, jogging and brisk walking always need to be utilized to escape from possible weight gain. However we do applaude their attempts to let the world know about the dangers of a little virus known as, AD-36.
This poor cat seems to have already succumbed to the war of the belly.

Soil-less gardening is also known as Hydroponics and was seen by some as the wave of the future and a cure all for world hunger when it first came into practice. However, long term practice has shown that hydroponics is still too expensive to serve as a gardening method for starving nations.
It does have applications for those who have very little space to grow things in and to be used in outer space by the astronauts! Go! check out Hydroponics-Soil-less Gardening for more information on creating your own soil-less garden.

We came across these super delicious treats at the Kitchen Wench. They are called Lamingtons and are made of Angel food cake cubes with strawberry jam sandwiched between them dipped in melted chocolate and rolled in cocoanut shavings. Go! get the recipes over there.
Do you have any chocolaty treat recipes that you’d like to share with us? There’s nothing better than a favorite treat while cozying up to your best flower pal.

Icky Foods! We just can’t live with them, can’t live without them! Our Fellow Blogger over at uglyfood has made it his mission to post information on some of the ugliest, most disgusting food creations that ever graced the earth. Maybe in a few cases the Universe…One of his less disgusting discoveries is the Hopsicle. A kind of Beer flavored popsicle for those who want to drink on the go?

We recently came across this recipe for Peking Duck and it sounds absolutely tasty! Has anyone tried the Peking Duck before? We’d love to hear how it tasted and how its meant to be eaten actually.
Our fellow blogger over at Food Mayham tried it in a restaurant in New York and said the chef very kindly cut up the duck and served it in correctly made wraps to eat. We’ve also heard that its served with pancakes? Though we’re tempted by the thought of this delicious treat we flower smellers probably won’t be stopping in at New York soon, so we’ll have to see if there are any places near Dubai that serve the dish.

Since we’ve been getting a lot of comments on our Botox post we thought we’d bring up the topic of detoxifying the body again. As our regulars know we’ve undergone the process of colonic irrigation and found it hard but highly rewarding as our toxins went through us like a Porsche.
Our fellow flower smeller over at Personal Development for the Book Smart has undergone another kind of detox with an all vegan diet for ten days. The results do seem to show that you look and feel better afterwards.
Has anyone else tried out any detox routine or would you?

Thanks to Favi from Texas for sending GO! Smell the flowers this quote:
‘The sweet is never as sweet without the sour.’

Comments please, do you agree with this bitter sweet symphony philosophy?

We just can’t seem to stay away from the blogs with risque names! While smelling flowers on the internet for possible goodies we came across Veg Bitch and her recent post about an upcoming trip she’s making to England from Sweden.
Apparently our fellow blogger hasn’t even tried jelly before and is looking forward to the chance! This got us thinking about the different foods that are so popular in each country that it just seems like they should be popular elsewhere. Anyone recently had a food revelation of this type?
