Online Dating and Smelling the Flowers

Posted on August 3rd, 2007 by Jim

Luckily some flower smellers have met their partners for life  - ours came after plenty of practice and there are lots of folks out there still looking for love.  We recently came across an article posted in The 15 Minute Dating Blog about a new online dating service, recently featured on CBS News.

The blog itself fun and packed full of interesting articles by those looking for a special someone.  Go! check it out sometime. Have YOU ever tried out the online dating scene or speed dating down the local boozer? Do tell. Don’t stalk.

I got married way back before all this Internet stuff - blogs and online dating. My ‘baby’ brother met his wife online, though. They’re very happy and have two darling daughters now.

I work with a lady that met her husband online, 1 baby and 1 in the oven, they are very happy..

I did meet a guy years back; he insisted on meeting me after my aerobics class (which I thought odd) but was willing because I would be surrounded by people.. Well he showed up, he must have posted a pic online from his high school days, because he looked about 20 years older and 50 lbs heavier.. He also brought his son, who sat in the backseat of his car staring at us the entire time.. I talked with him briefly and there was a very distinct urine smell that was permeating from this guy, he went to shake my hand and was missing half of his fingers..Not that I have anything against missing digits, but I was a little surprised when met with half of a handshake! Needless to say, I mumbled some excuse about my mom calling me on my cell and peeled out of the parking lot like the Dukes of Hazzard.. The whole scene was priceless.. Needless to say.. That was my first and last encounter

A bit on the scary side this ‘ find your partner on line’ scenario. How can you follow your instinct on line. Doesn’t do it for me - beer and a date works.

There will always be the need to make connectond on line, in the paper, at the shop and in any community. Gotta watch the power of the internet and the difference between inagination and reality.

  5. Thanks for introducing my blog site! I hope you guys will enjoy the dating horror stories (some of them are quite funny) and tips.

Btw, if any of you has an interesting dating experience (good or bad) that you would like to share don’t hesistate to send it to me at info@15minuteDate.com. You will get full credit as the author of the article and you can also link to your own site in the author’s bio section :)

  6. I’ve never really spoken with someone at an online site, but on occasion I’m guilty of trolling the sites just to see if anyone I know has been desperate enough to post a profile.

  7. gareth in China says:

So does on line dating lead to on line dancing?

I’m with Lemmy, meet them in the real world, the great thing about meeting them over a beer is if she turns out to be a boiler then simply up the ale quotient and before you know it she’s a fox, never been to bed with an ugly women but woke up with a few!

  8. lemmyfrommotorhead says:

Is right GIC, is right. 1, 2 or3 baggers?

  9. Gary says:

I must say I don’t need the internet to date as I tend to get approached by women in the street on a daily basis. It becomes a bit tiresome being honest. That they just see me as an object for gratification.

Whereas the girls at Euston Steam and Sauna- there is a real bond there. Plus they don’t ‘do it’ with anyone but me and think I am the best. Honest. I know they wouldn’t be so shallow as to use the same lines on other people.

I think interweb dating smacks of desperation. Unless say for example you like a certain nationality of partner. Like if you fancied Eskimo birds. You aren’t going to risk shelling out to turn up and see a sumo-esque bird with no dough. But if you have a look on the interweb I suppose you could at least view the goods before buying.

Great blog . I really liked it. I have also created a lens in same niche. This is my first time , hope u guys like it.Here’s a brief intro: Free online dating personals are fast becoming a popular way to meet other people from all parts of the world. Until recently, the majority of people met their boyfriends and girlfriends through traditional means. The most popular ways to meet someone included blind dates, setups, meeting through friends and colleagues, and of course bar and club hopping
