Go Smell the Future!

July 26th, 2007 by Jim

Uri over at Urikalization brings up some interesting points on time travelling.  We like to get around in our flower smelling explorations, but we have yet to go to the future or the past.

Time Machine

The web is a wide and varied place.  Has anyone out there attempted time travel?  We’d love to know your results.

Bah humbug, can’t read the site.
Time travel always throws up some great points to debate.
If you go back in time and do something, like for instance kill yourself the day after you are born then you immediately create some complicated paradoxes. If you kill yourself the day after you are born then how do you exist in the future to go back in time to kill yourself?
I don’t believe its possible to time travel as nobody has come back and told us (someone would have, the human race is too naturally mischievious for that not ot happen).
There are some interesting effects encountered when you travel at or near light speed. Time travel appears possible but its not like sitting in a machine and setting a dial. It is simply an effect of the speed and not really something from choice.

I saw a very interesting documentary on time travel.

Basically if you can get your hands on a delorean car and make it go 88 mph and use a transponder thingy then you can go back in time.

The two blokes who did it have done it I think on three seperate occasions- the last time they did it they went back to the wild west.

One problem though- it would appear there are some side effects. Time travel causes Parkinsons disease apparently.

Gary, I saw that same thing. It was amazing! I’m not sure about the animal cruelty bit–they sent the dog first.

In fairness the dog was bang up for going. I’ve seen his pawprint on the contract.

They weren’t sure if there would be food where they planned on going so sending dinner in advance was surely good preparation. Would have helped to send a Korean chef as well but to be honest if you put your mind to it they aren’t that hard to skin and gut.
