Okay… I have just finished reading Jonathan’s post, the one prior to this and it really hit a nerve. I am sick and tired of the woe is me approach to life. I am not having a personal dig at you Jonathan or anyone else. It’s a general attitude to life that I’m talking about. You have prompted me to say what’s on my mind and boy am I going to share.
I know you have all heard of The Secret movie and Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich book. I’ll give you a hint… thoughts become things… what you want is what you get in life. Now this has come up before when we have discussed the Law of Attraction and some points raised in the past I have not known how to answer as I don’t know the answers to everything but this thing I do know… the Law of Attraction has worked for me and we all need a little reminding from time to time.
I have a friend who healed herself using the law of attraction after many doctors visits and no relief. She has a free ebook download on her site which describes how she did it which also contains worksheets.
Jenny Mannion’s blog title reads:
Heal Pain Naturally - I was able to heal my chronic pain using all natural techniques. Most of which I adopted after studying the Law of Attraction and the mind/body connection.
Currently, Jenny is running a group writing project about the Heroes of Healing which quite a few bloggers are involved in so these beliefs are not just coming from the one person but many different perspectives.
This is only one aspect of using the Law of Attraction……
My mentor Sean Rasmussen has just finished writing The Secret Law of Attraction which is a re-write of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and has pre-released 3 chapters which you can download for free as well. I know he has put months of work into this and guess what? He doesn’t ask anything for it not even an opt-in. You can go ahead and download it and no-one is the wiser. The rest of the book is due to be released today so I will let you know when it becomes available. Enjoy this short and powerful video about the Secret Law of Attraction.
Joe Vitale, also known as Mr Fire, is another favorite teacher of mine. Now his book is not free and I don’t have any affiliation with him. If you dig around his site and subscribe to his emails, you will receive an abundance of ideas on how to attract the things you do want into your life. A few days ago, he released the second edition of The Attractor Factor and it looks great!
I think I have given you enough to chew on for the time being.

This is not as barmy as it might seem on the surface.
I can’t endorse a ‘law’ of attraction or any other such new age nonsense, but in my experience, often once you start believing something will happen it can become a self fulfilling prophecy (or coincindence of eventuality one might say).
There are bona-fide documented cases of individuals who have apparently ‘cured themselves’ (very deliberate inverted commas) of death sentence diseases, including advanced stages of cancer, with nothing more than mind over matter, assisted by, erm, scientifically trialed and proven normal therapies as well. But the docs in some of these cases were predicting death soon before the patients’ cure.
Still, I have not suffered a bad cold / flu for over 15 years, yet I used to get them all the time.
Why? Because I just don’t want one and when one starts I fight them with attitude (and mega doses of vitamin C).
How apt! Just tonight Mom and I were lighting a candle and asking the universe to help deliver a piece of mail we were expecting but has become lost in the system.
I strongly believe that the universe provides. Maybe it doesn’t make you rich or maybe you have to meet it halfway, but it has always come through with those things I’ve needed.
Nice one funkygirl! The universe does provide, you jsut have to believe it
tell it to the starving people who will be willing food to come there way and not receive it
or the child who doesn’t want to be abused anymore but it happens again
please explain these two anomalies to this nonsensical belief
Thought I’d share a decent definition with you.
Even Science accepts this at atomic and particulate matter is all that matters, if you will:
“The Law of Attraction states that all forms of matter and energy are attracted to that which is of a like vibration. The implications of this law are vast, and the law holds true for all known Universes. “That which is like unto itself is drawn.” The thoughts we hold attract similar thoughts and become large masses of thought called thoughtforms. The general vibration that a person holds is representative of the balance of their thoughts. As we become aware or conscious of our thoughts, we can raise our vibration by setting forth thoughts that are more in harmony with our desires. When our thoughts are in harmony with our highest desires, we are filled with joy and ecstasy. When we learn to set forth our thoughts consciously, we are no longer victims of our own outdated programming. We increasingly attract thought of a higher vibration and raise the level of thought at which we habitually vibrate.”

Cheers!
’science’ does not accept that passage by abraham hicks at all. please edit your post jim. science does not give any credence to the law of attraction at all.
science may well believe in atomic and particulate matter- but it doesn’t relate this in any way to a made up law of attraction. its nonsense.

the cases of people willing disease away are inaccurate. there is no way to say that the willing away was the cure. at all. unless it was the only course of treatment.
a positive outlook is likely to lead better results than a belief something is ineffective but this is a placebo in action.
Alright, trying again, let’s see if tis one ends up in spam. 3rd time lucky with this response……… maybe……..
UP, the cases of people willing away diseases are not inaccurate, but they are unproven. The question is can the human body enhance the performance of the natural immune system by an individual focusing their mind on their own illness?
Its not proven but I do think it is possible in much the same way that an individual can have such a negative view of their condition they simply give up and die quicker because they do not attempt to fight.
And the ‘law’ of attraction is, of course, a load of old b0((0<ks.
Very inspirational video and post, thanks for sharing it.

glad you liked it Martin C and welcome to GSTF… I don’t believe I have seen you around before… the video gave me goosebumps when I watched it for the first time and it’s a good one to watch on a regular basis… it gets me in a state of gratitude which then makes everything else follow.
“You cannot continue to beat the drum of things that don’t feel good when you beat them—without filling your future experience full of things that don’t feel good. At some point, there’s going to be a tipping point that’s going to become a manifestation.” -Abraham-Hicks (lawofattractionwealthsecretsforwomen.com/blog/law-of-attraction-quote-from-abraham-hicks)
If you are not getting what you want, then it is time to go beat another drum. This is what I get out of the quote. To me it is a matter or really identifying what you want out off or in your life, having a goal, vision, dream. If you don’t have those, you will never be fulfilled or satisfied. Many people live life not being able to identify this.
Or, the do the what I call “poor me,” or “yes, but.” Drives me crazy because they stop themselves and don’t really want assistance with what they say they want. However, I also have compassion because somewhere there is brokenness that causes them not to be able to directly state what they need or stay in a “victim” stance. That needs to be healed along with aiming for what they want; otherwise, there is no fulfillment and they may sabotage their own success. I still have compassion because it comes out of a wounded place, but it still drives me crazy. I have terminated friendships due to this as much as I tried they remained stuck, but still complained and wandered without any dreams. But, in terms of the friendship, it was a one way street…they didn’t have the ability to hear me especially as I grew.
Anyway those are my thoughts. Oh, and the video was awesome. I loved the music!!
You’re so right CC. Beating the same drum gets the same results however, changing the drum you are beating will give you different results.
I too have compassion and want to help people realise their goals and dreams. Leaving behind those that have the “poor me” or “yes but” syndrome has happened to me as well. It’s like Emma wrote about in her Pranic Healing post. Coming across people that drain your energy can’t be good for you and if they keep doing so, it’s best not to spend time with them or very little time if they happen to be family.
The video is awesome and I will be meeting the guy who made it next week as we’re off to the same workshop. I’ll pass on your comment! thanks
a dying relative who you had to look after 24/7 would drain you.
are you saying we should turn our back on them if we feel tired? the law of attraction?? the law of self obsession and using people to get ahead more like
who mentioned a dying relative anyway?
I think thats Urban’s example posed to question the theory?
Wait..I’ll ask OSHO…….
**Running footsteps**
Nope - said I have to buy a book on it.
LOL Jim… what?? no shuffling feet nervoulsy??
CC
from where I see it all the ‘law of attraction is’ is simple goal setting and planning. thats it.
the idea that whatever you ‘will’ will happen is nonsense as it would imply that people who get disease, abuse or are born disabled for example ‘willed’ it. that is nonsense. a person born with no legs for example can ‘will all’ they want but they are not suddenly going to sprout legs. a dwarf can will becoming 7 foot all they want but its not going to happen.
its basically saying ‘if you set goals and work hard to achieve them with a plan you ahve a better chance of achieving them than if you don’t.
but that is common sense and logic not a phoney ‘law’.
and lets not forget a ‘law’ should be based on easily provable none alterable criteria. this isn’t
I agree with you. I think that was what I was trying to say in an obscure way. On three hours of sleep and no coffee, yet. Thank you for clarifying what I really wanted to say.
Urban, you said “its basically saying ‘if you set goals and work hard to achieve them with a plan you have a better chance of achieving them than if you don’t.”
That’s exactly what it is… it’s just been given a name. It’s not a phoney law, you got it in one. When attracting things to you, you get what you focus on so it’s all relative.
so in summary Ange I was right!!!
the law of attraction is goal setting repackaged and sold on!!
thanks for being so honest! its nothing new- its nothing magical its just write down what you want to achieve and how best to achieve it and focus and commit to it!!! I am cool with that and if people want to do stuff lists and how to’s are good.
my problem with it is this idea that people who don’t achieve stuff or suffer hardship I feel with this its inferred that they are in that position out of choice and this isn’t the case.
Nobody said it was anything new.
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” The Buddha circa 500BC
hmmmm the universe is a vast and almost timeless entity with in itself…
I do think.. we attract things to us…I dont know if its the universe, if its the Gods, or even if its me.. but I am grateful for what I recieve no matter …
its rather cool the things what ever it is can deliver on… but one thing I do know it can take a long time to arrive….
Aussie, call it what you will. It’s different for different people… God, GOD (Grand Organised Designer) Universe, you, me, it really doesn’t matter. What matters is that once you have it, you are grateful for it… actually, feeling grateful even while you are attracting it and acting like you already have it helps the process along too. And the thing about taking a long time to arrive, the Universe works in it’s own time and knows when it’s right for you.
I love writing about this as it reinforces it to me as well. Thanks for sharing
Love it Ange! Thank you for posting this.
The universe does provide and yes you are so right when you say you have to trust it! Can be very scary and very exciting at the same time. Belief is a big part of it too though! Everything you have said rings so true with me!
that’s great Emma…I love it too!
