Go! Walk the hidden valley garden
August 19th, 2008 by Purple13As a treat for the last day of my holiday, Mandy and I went to Dunge Valley hidden gardens at the weekend.
It was very interesting, despite being slightly out of season, with some lovely walks thru a steep ‘gorge’ which at times was very steep / sheer drops. Luckily, I made it round.
What innocent outing have you started that turned into a ‘fright’?

Well, it happened twice. Once as a child and once as an adult. Both times, while snow skiing, we got caught by an unexpected snowstorm which significantly impaired my vision, barely being able to see the tips of my skis. Also, the wind and the cold was awful. Each time, we were at the top of the run, so we had to ski through it to make it to the lodge. An expected fun day of skiing turned into a terrifing experience of just making it down the mountain without becoming frozen by fear. (no pun intended, but it would have been a good one.)

If i’d been intended to ski, i’d have bigger feet!
We get a lot of skiing photos actually at Fabulous Photo Gifts - must be the dramatic snow capped peaks as the backdrops!

Glad you got back in one piece Purple!
One of ours was a trip to a shopping centre in Bangkok that led to an underwater shark dive at a new indoor dive centre!
Hee heee.
Yikes!!

I asked my girlfriend if I could take her up the dunge valley. She said its illegal where she’s from.
I had a fairly innocent outing to watch Everton play Tottenham a few years back. 30 of us stumbled into 70 odd spurs chaps who weren’t overly keen on us. Once our disagreement was settled the Met decided to unleash police dogs onto us and batons. Not the best day at the office.
Hi Pagan
Is it not a contradiction of ideas to combine Everton with football?
Surely you meant Tranmere Rovers !!
doesn’t sound like the beautiful game i know and love.
A hearty “well played chaps - (or oh what rotten luck)” usually suffices - no need to get nasty.
If only more Police Dogs were like Gnasher (dennis the menace) there’d be less fighting and more running i’m sure.

the case for the defence offers
erm no case!
we went for BBQ a few years ago.. hubby and eldest son went for a walk around the top of a gorge… one of the rocks gave way hubby fell 30 metres off the cliff…
crikes! better luck next time eh?? (lol) - it’s amazing how a set of circumstances come together in that one second isn’t it? that rock at that time and that footstep by hubby.
