GO! Smell more gold, Michael Phelps

August 18th, 2008 by Jim

Anyone else in awe of the U.S. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps?

As his gold medal hunt in Beijing ends he leaves the Water Cube eight golds heavier, breaking Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals in one Olympics.

He’ll be netting a $1 million bonus from Speedo for his performance now that he’s one-upped Spitz’s record count, cementing his place as one of the best athletes of all time.

Superman. Magical. The King. The Dolphin. The Fish. The Phenomenon has a unique diet.  Let’s just say he eats well with his typical breakfast being:

‘three fried egg sandwiches, with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, fried onions and mayonnaise, followed by three chocolate-chip pancakes; a five-egg omelette; three sugar-coated slices of French toast and a bowl of grits (a maize-based porridge), washed down with two cups of coffee.’

On it goes as he consumes 12,000 calories during a typical day! With no mention of John West tuna? Another endorsement on the way, perhaps? Whatever next, endorsing credit cards to pay for his food bill?

Phelps should be commended

He shows what can be achieved with genetics, training, dedication, boatloads of human growth hormone and a hugely advanced drug protocol

congrats to him. And to Organon. And to Schering. And to the people who help him pass his drug tests.

Great achievement but he’d have had no chance against Patrick Duffy, he could beat a Dolphin and he had a dapper porno haircut.

Congratulations to Michael Phelps!!! He is amazing. I can see him endorsing swim products (goggles, swim trunks, active wear), credit cards, cars, food items, practically anything if they have a great advertising agency…someone can always be creative.

**URBAN,

What drugs do you believe Phelps maybe on? Seriously - any ideas - can they get away with growth hormone?

HGH is untraceable. Insulin is untraceable- oh and interestingly one of the effects of insulin use is to increase the appettite so people can eat huge amounts and fuel their training sessions. HGH works in conjunction with it to ensure that those nutrients are not stored as fat. add in thyroid drugs like T3, T4 and the body becomes a nutrient furnace.

IGF-1 is also untraceable.

also the use of masking agents is miles ahead of the testers. so you can take the above stuff as a given but remember with traditional steroids the testers can only recognise substances they KNOW exist. so a NEW substance won’t be tested for as they don’t know it exists.

Blimey!

Wonder if the Brit cycle team are on anything with their Gold haul?

Apart from saddles, of course.

honest answer

I’d be amazed if any of them weren’t on stuff

lets face it if they weren’t on anything they could walk all the medals if they were to go on

Pagan
some Athelets arent using drugs at all..
The latest craze is Gene Theropy… where by they are literally changing the Genetcs to be better at their sport..
Phelps well done ..
But I dont think he is the best..
some of his medals came from relays…. to make the claimof the best they should be individual medals.. like Spits..

Urban
What about Sir Steven Redgrave ?
Should he return all of his Olympic Gold Medals ?
He has been injecting insulin for years !!
That is why he is still alive

thats where its such an grey area Bo Snr. You simply can’t eliminate insulin and growth hormone from sport. And if they did I bet a load of ‘recently diabetic’ athletes would surface!
