GO! Inhale, flowers

August 3rd, 2008 by Jim & Em

Any smokers around? Enjoy this badly planned advert one against and the other one for:

Since we’ve in the UK we’ve noticed a difference with smoking being banned in public places and we can wear the same clothes the next day that still smell of flowers.

Smoking comments welcomed! Passive and active - reasons for and against!

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!!!!!!

NOPE SMOKING IS A TABOO SUBJECT… WE AGREED… ITS NOT FAIR I AM BEING VICTIMISED…
LOOK WHAT YOU DONE I AM NERVOUS WRECK WAITING FOR THOSE ANTI SMOKER LOBBYIST TO COME AND HARRASS ME AGAIN ON THIS POST…..
MY NERVES A SHOT….
COFFEE AND A SMOKE SHOULD SETTLE IT….

OH THATS BETTER
Bugger off…lol
Yes I smoke..
no I am not going to justify it, because well I dont have too..
there are far worse things floating around in the air we breathe from your car exhausts, the chemical plants, powerstations, industry and what ever else you care to mention for me to concern myself with the rest of it….
One day I will stop smoking, when I feel ready, the more pressure I am under to quit the harder it is to do so….
the is no reason to smoke the same as there is no reason to drink, we do what we do….
and as far as the passive smoking lobby I really dont care…. I dont smoke in resturants not because I cant but because I find it rude when others are eating, I dont smoke in shops not because the laws says so but because I am busy shopping, and I will smoke outside if I dam well want too….
It is really funny that people will tell me to put smoke out because it is bad for the kids health while they have their pram and child at the back of car right next to the car exhaust…..
So sod it.. leave us alone…..
:)
have a nice day.. ;)

I am highly allergic to cigarette smoke and other types of odors and fragrances. Living in California, the first state to ban smoking inside public places, it has been absolutely wonderful for me. (I know that isn’t the right law, but whatever it is) I notice the difference on the quality of my life. I no longer have to leave places or become ill. Also, it is a proven fact that second hand smoke causes, at the very least, damage to that person. However, I do understand that smokers have rights too, but I don’t want to be exposed to it. I do think that they should make the law, so that they have to be so many feet away from the entrance of an establishment with adequate accomodations provided by the store/resturant/public place. I hate having to walk through to wall of smoke at some places, at times, it will make me sick for the rest of the day.

I have a highly sensitive nose that can sense people smoking from a far distance thanks to my dad who had been puffing all my childhood years until I was 16..

Smoking - nasty habit (bet i know a worse one!) well hey nobodies perfect although there was that one girl…… where was i? oh yes well each to their own i guess.

Like Sarah i can smell someone puffing at a 100 ft - thankfully its been banned from indoor events and pubs etc - you’d think that fine english weather would have made people give up but no - they still brave the elements.

Anyway, as Viz would say - start em young - junior beer!

smoking is ace. end of.

bottom line is this- 100% of non smokers DIE.

Smokers are risk takers, dare devils, men and women of honour. non smokers are a group of puffs.

as I often look in the mirror and say ‘king of the blokes because I smokes’

damn straight

but smokers die heroically

probably after saving the leading lady from a burning building. the smoker with his tough guy lungs would breeze into the building scoop her up in his arms and walk out.

the non smoker would complain about the smell of the smoke and refuse to go in to the building waiting until the fire brigade turned up then putting his nose in about health and safety regulations.

smokers are risk takers, go-getters, dare-devils. non smokers would be too but they’d never take the risk too fearful they’d get an allergy or something

All I will say is this- John Wayne smoked, Cliff Richard didn’t, Game over

Arvind Says:

I have nothing against smokers - as long they don’t smoke in my space.

London definitely is cleaner and fresher and pubs have actually seen more customers since the ban a year ago. I have started visiting bars again as it is much more pleasant now not having to worry about smelly clothes, watery eyes and cigarette burns!

The problem we now have is all the cigarette butt rubbish outside pubs and clubs :-(

Urban Pagan Says:

arvind if I may- define your space? Do you object to car owners exhaust fumes polluting your space as well? Or do you blind eye that because you drive?

Now pubs smell of human odours, sweat etc etc

Bring back the ciggies. They masked all of this
