Finally, done with the updates..

Today I managed to move our standalone wordpress to Wordpress MU. Now, this is not going to make any difference to 90% of the users but this update was very much necessary to enable social networking capabilities for the site.
So, what’s changed compared to earlier version?
Well, to be frank, we have downgraded Wordpress to a lower version (2.5.1 from 2.6). Couple of options in the admin panel are missing due to this. Specially the media gallery part with more options. It will be fixed in the next update.
And what about front end?
Nothing, at all. Just new capabilities to have multiple blogs running. I will go deep into this later as I do not want get overboard with more technical stuff.
So, I guess, that’s it… do let me know if you come across any bugs.
And yea, also.. The editors - Do not panic, I know many of you are not able to login. I am going to email Jim about it now. It’s gonna be fixed as Jim gets into the admin panel.

Thanks for the update as we take it to ther next level.
We’ll check the email now but all the old widgets are down the right hand side, from about 6 months aGO!
I logged in as my old password so managed to get access….
Back soon.

I just sent you an email with all the details.
About the widgets, actually I had to take them off and set to default due to issues with compatibility in the migration. I guess, we need to set the widgets again from the admin panel.

Ok please proceed on that basis and well done on the successful migration.
Hopefully we can get the previous set up back up ASAP.
All the widgets we see now show white boxes with red crosses in them.
Global translator isn’t working either but hopefully we can iron all the issues out in the next day or so
AND we’ve got the old emoticons back….

I just logged in to have a look around….
I can log in but have no options other than Dashboard… I can Not write posts, it just gives the first standard Dashboard logged in page and thats it…..
So I can not do anything at all…… sorry….
same for me… not able to write as no options to take me there
Second, weekend in a row…no flowers for an extended period of time. Very sad.

If you had cared to follow this blog instead of dropping in one off comments you would know that we are migrating to community with social network features. The change has been under the hood to the engine and that fact that there are virtually no disruptions on the surface speaks volumes for itself. So go stuff your armchair criticism and don’t come back to this blog, you are not welcome

Welcome back bud and we’ve added a ‘media library’ so rather than click on ADD IMAGE you can ‘ADD MEDIA’.
You’ll find it in the box when you WRITE POST:
POST ADD MEDIA VISUAL HTML are the titles you’ll see with all the widgets and icons underneath.
Then you can upload the image to the media library from your desk top or use existing ones. Images will often take 30 seconds to load up as they are ‘crunched’ into Wordpress.

Sorry, no help at all. I was already doing the attach media bit. I also tried to attach the image in different sizes in case file size was the issue. The whole thing just freezes.
I also go to spam so this might be my second response.
