Launch Day for the Published Version of The View From Here

Posted on July 19th, 2008 by mike

Mike here,

My literary zine The View From Here launched its first monthly print edition today! Break out the champagne!

Printed on 80lb paper in full colour with saddle-stitched covers, the magazine looks awesome.

Distributed and made through HP owned MagCloud, which is in Beta at the moment, you can only get the magazine shipped to a US address, but that will change once Beta testing is finished.

We are featured at MagCloud’s site at the moment. See a full review and order on-line here.  And this is a full size magazine, not a magazine squashed into a book!

We are currently looking for articles about fiction writing, poetry writing or articles about dealing with publishers or agents, so if you want to see yourself in print go to the magazine to find out details: http://viewfromheremagazine.com

Happy days! Hick!

    Congrats Mike…

    (Corks popping…applause)

The View has really moved forward in the last 3-6 months and there’ll be fantastic synergy between your mag and GSTF the community. With the Flora2000 / GSTF e-zine launch penned in for October there’s a great opportunity to inspire writers, editors, publishers and agents all over the world as part of that!

With us enjoying the trials and tribulations of the publishing world we’re open to new tips from all aspects and would love to be featured in a special edition in 5 years time ;-)

Great stuff and let’s get our heads together sometime soon!!

May Fabulous Photo Gifts add their own congratulations Mike.

The cover looks superb - really eye-catching. Now you can start worrying about the next issue!!

My good friend now produces her own bi-monthly community magazine and in a year she’s quickly crept up to over 9,000 copies printed and distributed in our local area.

I’m just working on a re-vamp of her website http://www.allthingslocal.co.uk for her next issue, part of which was her new blog which we sponsor.

    Once again, our congrats!

  7. hey Mike! GREAT JOB!
The Hiss Quarterly applied for a publishing spot … we’re going into our sixth year in 2009 and plan for a “Best Of” for the last five years, and will go BiAnnually thereafter.
We’d like for the issues to be in print, so I’m ordering one of your lovely zines (subscribing) to view the quality (we’re sure it’s top notch) and hope we’re picked for one of those coveted spots.
LuLu was our previous *on demand* publisher …

August 1 we go live with our Ekphrastic Extravaganza …
    I Love This JOB!

It’s hard work, but oh! It’s so rewarding!
    Congrats again! You Rock!
