GO! Smell the putter, Spider!
April 16th, 2008 by JimPart time golfer Jim here reporting in after surviving 9 holes of golf with Dubai based professionals Tom & Matthew on the black tees at Dubai’s Majilis course at Emirates Golf Club.
I tried, tested and bought this wonderful piece of equipment:
At first I thought it was a case of ‘ALL THE GEAR NO IDEA’ and that golf is a game played in the mind not what clubs you use. Many choose to GO! cheap and buy fake online sets of golf clubs. I opted for professional advice and a tailor made service to ensure the right clubs for my swing were ordered.
So, the right kit and lessons are highly recommended, as demonstrated here as more wonderful equipment is demonstrated:
Comments on buying the real deal versus look-a-likes are welcome here. FORE!

I’ve watched the top video but with no sound, I am guessing it is a putter?
But is that not kind of cheating? Or do you just use it as a training aid in the first instance?
I try and stay away from fake things, people and products.
If you can’t afford the real deal whether it be handbags/sunglasses/golf clubs, why bother? I don’t really get it. If I see someone with a fake purchases, I think they are a tad bit sad.

Tis a putter, Aye, to be sure!
It is perfectly legal and within regulation…..
SURELY as an ex air hostess Lib you’ve bought the blag bags, glasses and belts?
Not at all.
I was far too concerned with buying straw donkeys and ‘aboriginal’ boomerangs.

This is exactly how my first golf lesson went.
When the instructor told me he was going to “work on my putz,” I should have taken him more literally.

LOL Moooog35!
Spend more time practising and less time on alternative therapies and your golf may do justice to your new clubs
Can’t you just focus and ‘think’ the ball into the hole.
Surely your law of attraction means that if you imagine the ball in the hole after three shots then it will be so - unless of course its a load of old bollocks.
Maybe some tantric meditation, after all its about balls, holes, gripping the shaft tightly and all that.

I do recommend reading the book the ZEN of golf!
Jim,i can’t believe you’ve got a ‘Bat Putter’! And has it made a difference? I’ve still got the same set from when had those hazy summer evenings on Hill Valley Golf Course, packed lunch (Marge’s oaties!) and a stolen buggy.
As for real deal or not, check out what GIC is sporting these days!

I’ll be bringing it to your pre wedding knock at Darland on the 19th Mr Bo.
Jim, around how much it costs in Dubai? I mean playing a game of golf in one of the golf clubs here. I believe its quite an expensive sport? Do you have to become a member in order to play at the golf courses or how does it work?

Hi DG….
Visitors rates can be from AED 600 - AED 800 per round - that $200!
Jebel ALi is the best to start - AED 200 for 9 holes.
PLUS - Emirates & Montgomery have a driving range and 9 hole par 3’s that you can play for AED 80!!!
Does this help?
