To any lonely flowers..
April 9th, 2008 by JimEver had lonely moments in your life that made you feel like this…
Here in Dubai, where change is the only constant in a transient society has its moments. Dig deep here and share your quieter times with us. Did you use these times of isolation to your advantage or was it the last thing you wanted in your life. Do tell, no mates jokes are optional….

Ok Jim…
The time has come to tell you few things about marriage…its ok to miss Emma… but there is somethings you should know
Take the time you have on your own to do a few things….. such as..
HAVE YOU HAD THE GUYS OVER FOR BEER AND FOOTBALL
HOG THE REMOTE,
WATCH THE FOOTBALL,
EAT EVERTHING YOU SHOULDNT
DRINK COFFEE!!!!!!!
DO ALL THE THINGS YOU NORMALLY GET IN TROUBLE FOR…
now the trick is to have it cleaned up before Emma gets home… but dont leave it till Friday… do it Thursday…… just incase she comes home early…

ah Jim - sounds like a star wars marathon or trekkie marathon is the order of the day. One day i might try to watch all the Bond films….
as Yoda said - be like the blade of tall grass in the wind (and bend), because once the wind has spent itself, the blade of grass will stand tall again.
If you haven’t got enough work to completely emerse yourself in, then visit one new place - a bar, a shop, a tourist attraction and then you’ll have something to talk about when Em returns.
(you could always take up jigsaw puzzles!!!! - lol)

24 box set! That’s what you need! You’ll soon realise that no one is lonelier than Jack Bauer.
Even though I live in a city with loads of people/friends around me, I do get lonely because I’m single. Not often but it does happen. And it annoys me because I normally don’t need a.n other in my life to not feel lonely.
I combat it by stalking.
You mean like “Scott no mates” Jim? I couldn’t resist… lol!
I can’t say that I remember ever feeling lonely as such and I do love to be alone so that I can please myself… a bit like Aussie’s hubby really, I can’t wait for everyone to leave the house so I can have it all for me. A bit indulgent I know but when you have little ones calling out “mummy, mummy, mummy….. ” constantly, a break is a very welcome break

Dear Jim
As AC has stated you will soon learn to love “me time”. Whether you go away or Emma goes away. Trust us we know!!!! You are allowed to miss Emma but…… get over it she will be back!!! Like AC and others have stated PARTY!!!! Ok everyone to Jim’s place to cheer him up until Emma gets back - heck why not keep partying even when she does arrive home!! What would you like me to bring Jim?????

Before coming to China I spent a lot of time traveling to various areas in Europe - Czech republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, France and had a many evenings to fill in hotels. I tended to use this time to catch up on reading, pondering and mainly planning things out, both for work and private life. Sitting down and mind mapping or considering the ‘what if’ scenarios tended to pay dividends both in work and personal life. Using the time for reading also really helps as you can get up to speed on so many things.
Right now I actually try and get one or two evenings a week just to myself in order to do the same. If I can’t then normally I can think things through whilst swimming for a n hour or so.
No substitute for proper planning and thinking through the various ‘what if’ scenarios if you want things to go the way you want them to rather than simply just happening.

I guess I’m weird because being alone is what I desire most. I often tell my children that when the last one leaves (T minus 7 years and counting), don’t look for me cuz you wont’ find me. I’m getting a cabin off somewhere in the backwoods where only the trees and birds can hear me speak. To me, this is heaven. The darkness, solitude…it’s ALL good!
