I had to look up the true definition of “mercy”. Right out of the cage, it seems to mean not causing someone harm when you can, and when you have the reason to want to.
Further on, mercy can mean just showing someone compassion, helping the helpless.
::long pause to think it through::
I suppose I would consider mercy to be an example of someone who donated time and effort for a cause without expecting anything in return.
Very difficult to do in this time and age, I think.

I dont know, there is a huge difference between Mercy and compassion..
compassion is caring and thoughtfulness..
mercy = power, god, pity…
compassion is a different matter… I give loads, to people… every day
but I have no need for mercy… this is because I have never had nor do I wish to have the power that would require me to give it… I have never threatened a persons life and well being to the point that mercy would need to be shown… such a horrible power to weild.. can you imagine having the power of life and death … no thanks not my coffee!

you could say she’s a tweet wrapper - ha ha. and talking of welsh exports….. (see Bo below)….I like Torchwood but it’s a pity they don’t film elsewhere other than Swansea as the sets and locations look very ‘the same’ after a few episodes don’t you think?

My understanding of mercy is the first definition that Rufus posted - not causing someone harm when you can, and when you have the reason to want to.
So, by that definition - I think the only things I’ve shown mercy to is spiders I haven’t killed - and not sure that even that counts - as I have no reason to kill them.
