GO! Smell the Michelangelo quote!
March 31st, 2008 by JimSome food for thought folks:
‘ The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it’
Low hanging fruit is optional, right? Comments welcomed as our fury buds smell the flowers together.

How soooo very sweet this picture!
If there’s someone for whom I have a flowery thought today, it is Elton.. Thank you EJ
I love the pic.. very cute…
the one thing which stops us acheiving our goals is the fear that we might actually reach them….

I’m printing this up and leaving it on the fridge — a reminder for my kids. GOOD ONE!

Cool Rufus - glad it made it to the fridge…
Where’s Empress Nightshade? Is this aiming for Good or Great?
I posted the comment before:
Peter Ustinov’s school report once said (roughly) - Peter set’s his sights low and consistantly fails to acheive
Here I am!
You just know I had to comment on this. It could be aiming for Good instead of Great. It also could be aiming for less than that.
I have a niece who just does not see what she is worth. Amongst other things, her standards for choosing men are always in the gutter — ex cons, crackheads and ghetto bums. She has set her aim, alright…..Unfortunately, she has to bend to reach them.

But Empress does the fact she’s drawn to these ‘lost souls’ (as society may say) speak more about her than we give her credit?
What? That she’s an angel of mercy? I know the chick or “chook” to some here — an angel she is not! What are your feelings?

Great picture jim & Em
Empress, I agree with you, it says a lot about her and what she believes she is worth.
The type of men she is going for reflects on her own perceived worth. She can have it all - if only she is open to allow herself to see that
Set your targets low and the danger is that you might just reach it. And this applies in all areas of our lives - work, wealth, relationships, health and so on.
Conversely, it takes a new level of thinking and way of being, to get out of the situation once you are in it. As Einstein said,
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

G’Day Empress
your neice my sister….. you can throw in there wife beater for her and alcoholic…..
It is true that these kind of choices do tend to say more about the individuals idea of self worth than anything else..

Love the picture!! Just twittered the page.
And the quote reminds me of Richard Bach - argue enough for your limitations, and sure enough, they’re yours.
Enjoy,

I like the sentiment but I would argue the greatest dangerwe face is the rise of religious fundamentalism throughout the world
Highly likely, you may well be right Urban
