I have my doubts if the torch will make it to the top of Everset anyway, protests or not.

Seriously, are they really going to carry this off?

Yeah, it seems kind of strange to me that they're protesting one of the sports that would bring more world attention to China, making it harder for China to ignore or supress the needs of these people in light of world scrutiny.

I really hope the torch and the olympics go well...
Never agreed with sport, religion and politics being intermingled....
These days however I feel it is impossible to separate these subjects,
China will not release Tibet regardless of world opinion.... it will open the way for so many others to do the same and push for independance.. such as Taiwan....
All that can be pushed is in the area of Human Rights.... Chinas record has never been too good on this front.... but there are so many other countries with the same problem..... negotiation and understanding is the only way to get to the other side... realising what is possible and what is not will go along away to solving the problem... otonumy is probably the only solution, but convincing China will be a hard task....
Ireally hope for the sports people that the oplympics go well and this is sorted before the games begin...
