GO! Smell the exercise!

March 7th, 2008 by Jim

How often do you exercise? Finding it hard to find the time?

What do you do for exercise in these click n drive modern times? Leaning for the TV remote or repetitions on the mouse doesn’t count but this treadmill dance does!

‘They’ reckon elevating your heat rate 3-4 times, 45 minutes per week should do it!

This post reminds me of doing my daily exercise again. I’m guilty of not taking care of my body….

Em here . . .

Hmmm know that feeling. I know what I should be doing, but that doesn’t mean I do it! Especially when chocolate is involved.

Cooeee! Hello Flowers,

Been on holiday me an David av! Sri Lanka like, lovely it was, an we got all this excercise see. Feel ever so fit an that now we do.

David took us there in that spaceship wot he’s been building in the shed at the bottom of our garden, just like a private jet it is like, only it travels really fast see, so it only took us 12 minutes to get there, an that was from our second home in Oswaldtwistle up North.

Well we was talkin wiv this fitness guru what we found in the mountains up round Candy an he says to us, “Alright Elton mate, who’s that poofy lookin geezer wot you are angin around wiv?”

“Wotcher guru bloke,” I says, “That’s our David it is, an he’s not poofy, just refined see.”

“Looks like he could do wiv buildin up a bit mate,” he says,

“I knows it!” I says back, “Only wot dyou think is the best excercise like wot we could do that would like get us all fit an that?”

“Sprouts.” he says, all solemn like, “Sprouts.” Well he refused to elaborate he did, so we reckoned that we’d best start eatin lots of them an we av been see, an very tasty they are too like, only we av been eatin them for nearly two weeks now an the only benefit is that they make you very regular an you start avin to run quite a bit, an you lose loads of weight like, so it works it does.

Only thing is, we ad a welcome home party last night, an that Rod Stewart wouldn’t come inside, said our house stinks he did! Rude he is, rude!!

ELTON, welcome back - Queen of the community you are and you’ve been sorely missed,

Are you sore after Sri Lanka Elt? Too much sun?

Light lots of candles Elt, that way it burns off the methane. If you are really clever, you can practice the flame thrower trick for your next party.

Just watch your curtains though!

Walking the dog is about as far as it goes for me!

Used to do loads of sport when I was a kid, swimming, running and stuff. Now I … hang on … just remembered lugging the kids around counts doesn’t it? Yeah, there you go then. :-)

Would love it if I had a dog to walk - it would make me get up and exercise.

Jim doesn’t take too well to the lead, and I has not quite perfected the art of wagging his tail yet!

Swimming about 3 times a week. Generally 1.5km’s but sometimes only 1km.
25 minutes on my rowing machine in the morning (again I miss one or two sessions per week but do try to do it every day).
Now its getting warmer I’ll try and fit in running a couple of km’s a week as well.

Got to do something as the food over here is fantastic and the problem with eating Chinese is that they put it in the middle of the table on a rotating plate so it’s almost like being at a buffet, these are lethal as you never really know how much you’ve eaten until you button pops on your trousers.
Also the food is cheap compared to the UK although inflation is pushing it up.

Also don’t forget bedtime exercise folks, it all counts, so come on put your back in to it, give it to her - http://youtube.com/watch?v=8FdPen5ZG_Q

Hmmm I’m with that train of thought Gareth . . .Em here.

I know that if only I would go to the gym or exercise each day I could eat what I want, but it is still not enough to get me there. And I still eat what I want.

Not a good idea.

If only I was more like a rabbit and liked the salad.

I keep promising myself that I would start yoga or pilates and still not got there yet.

Am thinking about Salsa. That way I figure you can party at the same time as exercising!!!

I go to the gym 3 times a week and also work out at home on my exercise bike on those days I don’t go to the gym - this is the year when i get back to superfitness.

At one time I used to play competitive squash 4 times week :-)

have tried everything, but running on a dirt track is the only way for me. Can’t go back indoors after spending the whole day in the office.
Problem comes when traveling on work, never can get to exercise normally because the only access is the Gym… but will have to think of something !

Stretching exercises at work? Behind the wheel / breathing techniques perhaps…..

Always plenty to do with a desk and a chair!
