Go! Smell the smouldering questions!

Hmmm Feedburner - this one keeps coming up. Do i need to change the url on all the links that already exist to my blog to the feedburner url? That would be quite a mammoth job - no thanks.

If I go to feedburner, do i still just upload my rss.xml file to my server in the normal way and does feedburner then go off and do its thing or do i end up with two rss feeds - my own and the feedburner one?

Sorry these may sound really basic questions from an IT kinda guy but I’ve never been able to find the answers to convince me I won’t loose the few regulars I have by switching.

Answers required please.

Purple13, what are you trying to do? You want people to read your blog as a feed?

If I tell you a secret, do you promise to keep it to yourself? This whole feed thing is hocus pocus, all one has to do inorder to ready a blog in any feed reader, is type in the URL of the blog into their reader. So for example all your readers have to is type in purple13.blogspot.com into their feed reader and wallah your blog’s feed will come up.

ok guys here goes…

Is a Blog a feed or is my RSS feed a feed? (or are they both classed as feeds in feedburners vocabulary)?

I’m trying to spread my rss feed near and far - according to myth, I need Feedburner to do that.

DO I still update and upload my own rss.xml file or do i now do all my updates via my blog and feedburner turns that into a subscribable rss feed?

You see somethings I update on the website etc and I post an rss feed update (by updating my rss.xml file and uploading) that don;t go on my blog and vice-versa.

I’m worried that if i do use Feedburner, then i’ve got to go around changing all the scripted web and other profile links to the new url - too much of a pain to do that!

I presently digg, stumble etc and i’d always thought that was enough.

Previously when i used to type my rss.xml url into a browser, i never got anything in IE (until i upgraded to V7) - Firefox seemed to cope alright but as 90% of my viewing traffic uses IE, then I didn’t want to present a ‘broken page’ to most of my visitors.
