GO! Propose to a Man on Leap Year Day!

February 29th, 2008 by arvind

time to propose to a man!

Arvind here with some fun questions for “Leap Year Day”.

29th February is supposedly the only day when a woman can propose to a man and ask for his hand in marriage:-)

But have times changed in the 100 years since the above postcard showing how things were done around 1908? Do women still plot and plan in secret to capture their ideal man?!

So if you are a woman, would you ever propose to a man? Or do you think it is much more romantic if the man proposes?

And if you are a man already snared by some maiden, how did YOU propose? Did you ever wish she had proposed instead?!

Do share…in total confidence of course :-)

go on, make his day!

Dont Do run away….. Live in Sin….
Girls dont be this silly….
have your cake and eat it tooo…..
Run Away….!
heres a story for you:

Once upon a time
in a land far away,
a beautiful, independent,
self-assured princess
happened upon a frog as she sat
contemplating ecological issues
on the shores of an unpolluted pond
in a verdant meadow near her castle.
The frog hopped into the princess? lap
and said: ? Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me.
One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am and then, my sweet, we can marry
and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so. ?

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on lightly sauted frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce,
she chuckled and thought to herself:

I don?t fudgin think so.

Ha! Clearly the beautiful, independent, self-assured princess likes French cuisine! ;)

My stand Arvind:

It’s for a man to propose. It’s more romantic, it’s sweeter, it’s in the natural order of things.

Just like it is better for a man to take the initiatives in a romance, especially in the earlier stages. It’s the gentlemanly thing to do, and it prevents misunderstandings and confusions for the lady. A woman is more receptive (and the romance has better chances) when she is reassured that he’s really into her - as opposed to her wondering whether he is just being polite in responding to her advances.

Do women still plot and plan in secret to seduce the ideal guy? Hmmm, I guess as long as women will be women, the seduction game will be played. Of course, some are good at it, some are plain pathetic! If you wonder, Bridget is a disgrace! Honesty and directness, alternated with stammering shyness, do not make a winning combo with plotting and scheming I think! And I guess guys prefer being.. taken for a ride by a seasoned seductress than having to make sense of a contradictory enigma ha! ;)

she disappeared the next day but left all her stuff

to get over it I gave the place a really good cleaning and got a new patio put in

Sounds like a fair exchange - a new patio for an ex-girlfriend, almost wife-to-be :-)

I think regular readers know my proposal episode.
Moonlit dinner on a small and beautiful island beach
Slow walk down the beach to the chill out bar
Couple of drinks for us both
Popped the question
She asked me if I was drunk.

Said yes once she realised I’d had no alcohol all day, then we went off and danced the night away in a beach front bar/disco.

Just busy with sorting the honeymoon now and next Friday have to go the British Embassy in Beijing to get some official paperwork. So far all the dealings I’ve had with the embassy have been first class. These guys really know their stuff and work really quickly. At the present time they are a shining beacon of how officialdom should be and put all other government departments to shame. If you ever find yourself, as a UK citizen, with a problem and in China, these are the guys to deal with.

April 26 is looking to be the favoured date at the moment. Least ways it’d better be as the honeymoon in Bali starts 28 April, 27 April will be in Jakarta.

Not since the bombing, there are no where near as many Aussies there.
This is a bit of a result as the bulk of the trade was Aussies and with their absence prices have gone through the floor.
I’ve got a deluxe seaview room in the Grand Mirage resort for 73US$ per night including 2 breakfasts. Not bad for a 5* type of place with all the trimmings.
