Flowers need water. So do we so with all this detox talk we wanted to remind you to GO! drink some water as part of your general well being. We are good like that.
Did you get that drink yet? If it’s yellow then you’re not drinking enough so get to it, preferably from the tap.
Anyone else get the feeling bottled water companies are conning us? 60 million bottles a day in the U.S are thrown away and not recycled and it is 7,000 times more expensive then from the tap. No Big deal or a major cause for concern?

Jim
no wonder you need to de-tox you’ve let yourself go a bit!
bottled water is a con. tap water s just as good.
its a great marketing ploy though. Peckham Spring anyone?
I am terrible when it comes to drinking water. I prefer coffee which, according to my father, is poison. Regardless, I like my poison hot with lots of cream in the morning.
Coffee can be a poison. Too much and you’ll be prone to pancreatic cancer.
Me too as per cardio - starbucks is so much more appealing throughout the day….
Bottled water is a rip off but I do try and drink 2 litres a day of any type of water.
I can’t understand these people that say they don’t like Evian or prefer Volvic.
It’s frigging water! How can it taste that different?
Most bottled water caomes from the same source as your tap water….
Not the natural spring they say…
We have a natural spring here in town which has a hose fitted it runnes constanly and is purer than anything you would get from the shop…
You should about 2 litres of water a day they reckon….
We have natural spring water where I live and it’s incredibly pure and cheap.
There are little buildings set up in town that have wells which tap into the ?aquafur?. You take in three or four plastic gallon jugs, drop a quarter in the machine and it pipes up several gallons of water straight from the source. It’s not only healthy, it’s great family fun. : P
So called designer water is a joke! Pepsi even withdraw water when it was found to contain nasties a few years back not even fit to come out of a tap - it was from the mains!
I always have water before I sleep and first thing in the morning AND when I’m driving…well over the 2 litres me, crazy huh!
Like everything else in the States, if money can be made from it, then it will be taken advantage of….MONEY ABOVE ALL, not “in god we believe” is the motto that should be on all the $$bills….shame shame shame….
I wish that I was more like water
Because water is really cool
Everything, everywhere likes water
From people to plants to mules
Water is always satisfying
And is famous for being refreshing
And there is no denying
That water is very thirst quenching
Water often comes as a liquid
Or it sometimes will come as steam
It can disguise itself as a solid
And when it storms it can be mean
What amazes me about water
Is that it can grow life from nothing but dirt
But what I most admire about water
Is when water falls, it never gets hurt
Good ending line there. Funny.
Cool poem Bo, H20 huh!
Very poetic Bo, google or your own work?
I think enough hasn’t been done to brand tap water. It’s brand is bad. But what if you had special water purifiers that add extra oxygen to your tap water, I bet you’d fall it right?
I go through up to 2 litres of water plus herbal mint tea 3 / 4 times per day.
On days when I don’t drink enough, I feel sluggish.
Tap water is fine and even better if you use a filter. Bottled water is quite a con but good for visits to the gym.
Every morning, start your day with 2 to 3 glasses of water to get your bodily systems going again.
Adding lemon into warm water to start the day works to get the digestion going! No tubes needed flowers…
We can’t drink tap water in Dubai, it’s desalinated water I believe. Bottled water it has to be. I go with Volvic.
Too right Bj - shockingly bad it is - even with boiling it for a cuppa it still tastes like floor cleaner, EVEN with PG tips. I go local with water, Masafi is fine - why Volvic - it is stil tap water anyway!
I was into local brands too DD, until my ex came into my life and decided Evian and Volvic suited this Bridget better!
I guess the habit stuck. I still like Bonne Maman cookies and french cheese, especially when melted by a fireplace while it snows outside … *big sign*…
Bridget
You crapped on in another post how the cheese eating surrender monkeys ‘are truly great guys..’ but do i detect from the above post that you dumped/were dumped by one?
Not that great then
Hmmm. Dubaidave, to whom my responses were addressed, could resist. Even Gary did, despite his legendary sense of repartee. But not so EllesmerePort’s representative, er?
“Crap”. Hmm. Great language. Can only come from an English “gentleman”..
Do me a favour will you? Pretend you don’t see my posts and take your bile elsewhere. I’ve seen your recent comments on ‘Health Conscious’. You give Englishmen a bad name.
As the French say, “va voir ailleurs si j’y suis”.
A bon entendeur, salut.
P.S
J&E, please make sure this comment does not go to SPAM, thanks.
Bridget
Can you please correct any factual mistakes or assumptions i have made.
To Whom It May Concern.
Being a gentleman is not about stating facts or making correct assumptions. It is about being chivalrous (ever heard of the concept from Britain’s acclaimed Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century through his Franklin’s Tale?).
This includes, amongst other things, knowing when to keep silent not to embarrass your vis-a-vis, and certainly being noble and ‘genteel’ at all times.
Clearly, I was misled by Mr. Chaucer as to the character of the Englishman.
GO! Bridget - lets make angry happy -together! :0)
Fab, thanks for the support.
However, this Bridget has no time for the Angrys of this world. She’s way too busy enjoying cosmopolitan Dubai and learning about its different people. Ha!
The water here in Changchun often comes out of the tap a brownish shade of orange.
I have a filter system for my cooking and drinking water.
Bottled water is not necessary and is not economically sound, plus you end up with so many PET bottles being thrown away. This pushes up the price of plastic on the global commodity market and makes it harder for me to turn a profit on my very nice car products.
If you really take it that seriously then get a reverse osmosis filer. It is a cheap and easy was to get clean pure water.
I also have to check that I am drinking regularly as the humidity here is very low, especially in the winter at -25C. During a busy day I can easily go 8 hours without drinking if I’m not careful.
GIC
What brand names should i be looking for when considering a GIC designed car?I hope it’s not like some of the Nissans here in the UAE - can’t boast to my mates in the UK that i’m driving a 3.0 Lt Nissan cedric or Nissan Gloria
A friend of mine had a yellow ford cortina which he affectionately named Lily - after a colleagues Balinese wife. He claimed that they were very similar, in that everyone had been for a ride in her.
Right now all the cars I work on are for the Chinese market. FAW Bentang is the most recent. The instrument panel, seating, door panels and console where managed by me.
In India, Mexico, China, South Africa there is my first car, a Ford Fiesta with a boot - I did the seats.
The Focus C Max contains the rear seats I managed the design team for. I worked heavily in the set up of the seating system for current Ford Focus, Volvo S40 and Mazda 3. I’ve worked on many others but probably not many that have made it to Dubai.
How can you manage without water for 8 hours GIC? Not good….
Being busy, focused and having to give guidance to many of my staff on many aspects of many projects can sometimes distract you so much the day just flies by. I haven’t done it for a long time now as I do make an effort to hydrate at least once an hour.
What cosmopolitan par of Dubai would that be?
The restaurants in five star hotels where wannabee’s parade their designer clothes, where they park their X5’s and hustle to be in the Ahlan Magazine picture. The part where the Russian drugs barons buy whole floors of apartment blocks, the part that the locals who employed child jockey’s, the camps where labourers live 12 to a room and don’t get paid for months and are deported if they protest, the Dubai that bans gambling but allows raffles for Mercedes cars, or is it the camel beauty contest etc etc. I live in the UAE but don’t see it through the same rose tinted glasses that the ‘beautiful people’ do. See Dubai for waht it is fur coat and no knickers. A great marketing job
Sadly, some people just dont know when to quit.
